Inspired at an early age by watching the Emergency Vets: show on Animal Planet, young Kaleigh told her mother she would be a veterinarian one day when she was only 9 years old. Holding that dream, her first job at 16 was a kennel assistant at a local general practice. Through scholarships, grants, loans, and a part-time job, Kaleigh supported herself and her familiar, Tigra (the long hair tabby), through her Bachelor’s at UC Davis.
Kaleigh married her high school sweetheart, Andrew, before dragging him along to Kansas State University where she attended vet school. After a meandering path deciding between zoo med, wildlife rehab, exotic practice and finally finding her passion in trauma care and emergency surgery, Dr. Robinson came to Arizona to complete a small animal rotating internship. There her first major surgery by herself was Tigra’s tail amputation after an injury paralyzed it. Dr. Robinson found her niche as an overnight emergency veterinarian expanding her passion for surgery and trauma care.
Andrew and Dr. Robinson settled in Gilbert, and Tigra now has two younger siblings to annoy her: Kittytoe and Meowliodas (the quintessential black and orange cats respectively). Even though her hair color changes as often as she switches her favorite novel (basically each new one she reads), Dr. Robinson has never wavered in her pursuit of veterinary medicine. Now she is excited to enter this next phase of her career as practice owner of EVE Pet Hospital where she can not only help pets in their time of need but facilitate a non-corporate and compassionate environment for her coworkers as well as her clients.
